The Lushei Kuki Clans (1912) — colonial ethnography mentioning the Paihte

A colonial administrator’s survey of the hill clans, and one of the earliest printed sources to record the Paihte by name — placing them, with the Sukte and Thado, under established chiefs to the north. It was published under the orders of the Government of Eastern Bengal and Assam by an officer of that administration, so it should be read as evidence of what the colonial government recorded and believed, not as a neutral account of the clans it describes.
